Nasi Goreng Paste recalls our backpacking food adventures in Yogyarkarta in Java, Indonesia and the amazing Nasi Goreng we ate at Beringharjo Pak Tedjo, a legendary stall that has been serving this dish since 1968!
We use a kicap manis treacle dark soy to give our Nasi Goreng Paste the quintessential sweetness of Javanese cooking. We also use dried shrimp for an umami explosion! All this is then gently hand-cooked with tamarind and chilli for tropical tartness and heat.
STIR FRY with chicken/beef, carrot & green beans.
Use as MARINADE for chicken; grill.
Mix with sweet chilli; use as a DRESSING for burgers & pulled meats.
