Shandong Sweet Paste represents the flavours of the Eastern Chinese dish Red Braised Pork (Hong Shao Rou). Pork slowly braised in a cinnamon and clove infused caramel sauce, it is little wonder then that this was apparently one of Chairman Mao’s favourite dishes!
A thick and sweet dark soy hand cooked and simmered with cinnamon and clove to yield a sticky aromatic flavour perfect for stir fries, braising and barbecue meats.
Use as a DRESSING for burgers, Chinese pancakes, wraps.
STIR FRY with chicken/beef/pork, peppers & roasted cashews.
MARINATE with salmon/pork belly/chicken; grill.
